Welcome to Old Farm Almanacs...

I collect farm almanacs that are over 100 years old. Such almanacs are tattered, fly-specked and fading, but they tell a story of life before tractors, electricity, radios, television, and computers. Old farm almanacs reflect the rich agrarian culture of America's past. I want to help preserve the old almanac writings and educate others about this part of our past. That is why I have created this web site.

I will post excerpts from the Old Farm Almanacs here in the days ahead. If you are new to this site, be sure to check out the Complete Archive & Site Index (click link just below this introduction). I invite you to stop back often and keep up on new postings. If you have insights or thoughts about a particular almanac excerpt, please leave your comments.

There is nothing quite like this historical and cultural resource anywhere else on the web. If you enjoy Old Farm Almanacs, I hope you will spread the word.

Thank you,

Herrick Kimball
